As of today I've been back in Vegas for a week now, and it's been a very interesting week I might add. A lot of Surprises! But I'm just glad to be back home. For good this time. With all that being said!

Well today was an pretty good day. I did a lot and what not. I hung with my boy Reese at his mom's house and his daughter was there and I absolutely love her! with all my heart. And I really enjoy every moment I have with her. I don't plan on having any of my own anytime soon so his will do for now. Lol.

Jail

According to a new study, America now has 1.6 million people in prison.

That’s the same as 1 out of every 100 adults. The statistics are even scarier when it comes to rates of minorities, with 1 in 36 Hispanics behind bars, and a whopping 1 in 15 black adults. The US imprisons more people than any other country in the world.

Because of this, we spend about $49 billion in taxes annually on corrections. The average amount of money spent in that time to incarcerate an inmate is $23,876. By 2011, the US is expected to spend $74 billion dollars each year on the prison system.

Hopefully, this will be a wake up call to lawmakers. Their current policy of warehousing people is not effective, in terms of cost or in terms of fighting crime.

As the saying goes, all prison does is make better criminals.

Consider this; it costs $23,876 per year to imprison a person for one year, and about $5,000 for one year at a public college. If our country got serious about ‘fighting’ crime, they would realize that it must be done at the ground level. There are people who commit violent crimes and deserve to be imprisoned, but then again, there are tens of thousands of people who have committed non-violent crimes and are behind bars for years. These people, for the most part, are not threats to themselves or their communities, but none the less are stuck behind bars for years, and at a high cost to tax payers.

If we really want to do something about crime, we should try diverting those funds to the communities that really need them. Put the money into inner-city & rural school systems and community centers. Try increasing treatment for repeat drug and alcohol offenders. Offer re-education for inmates after release, so at least they have an idea of the options available to them. Try retraining police forces so that they can do actual policing and not just resort to the strong arm tactics that many officers use.

The Government’s current policies are self defeating. Unless something is done soon, the US will continue to look less and less like a democracy, and more like a totalitarian state.

Sometimes

I hate my life. I really do.

So. I was wrong.

So the East won. But at the same time Kobe (k-hova) didn't play. And the West lost by 6 points. Now if you add Kobe in the mix I believe he would have had an MVP performance. Adding an additional 25-30 points to the West score easily giving them the boost they needed.

Anyways the game was excited not the best I've seen but it was an good game. The first and forth quarter where easily the best the second and third could have been much better. And when S.T.A.T. dunked over Howard. I gotta a little juiced. And the double ally oop from Kidd to Bron and than the finish by Howard was nasty.

Oh and Lebron getting the MVP was coo. But I feel Ray Allen also had an MVP performance. He hit 3 back to back threes to keep the East in it. he had a really nice game. finished with 28 points to lead all scores mind you he came off the bench to play 18 mins. He killed!

Slam Dunk!

When you think of the month of February for many Valentines day comes in to mind. But for Most N.B.A. fans All Star weekend is what your anticipated for. And this year well it's still going on. But the dunk contest has ended and it was a pretty good showing this year. On a scale from 1-10 I'd have to give it a 7. My man Dwight Howard came and give an electrifying performance.

All though The N.B.A hated on my man Howard he still came and left as the slam dunk champion. Mind you last year he was in it and got snubbed. He put a sticker on the top of the back board. thats like 12-13 feet. thats crazy!



And the he also wanted to raise the goal up to twelve feet. But they wouldn't let him. Can you believe how crazy that would have been. Like damn. That would have been nasty!

To keep it solid I thought Howard wasn't going to win this year either but he hella brought his a game this year. He scored 200 points over 2 rounds which means he had a perfect dunk each time. But I can't take nothing away from Gerald Green His birthday cake dunk was stupid!



He actually lit the candle jump caught the ally and blew out the candle than dunked it!

To my dismay I wasn't able to find Dwight's ally/self lob off the glass dunk. Which was his sickest! dunk. Dwight showed that the big men get up to.

Now with all that done. While I was watching the dunk contest last night I asked myself who was the sickest dunk champ ever. And I know many of you will all say Micheal Jordan. I mean he was sick and all. And easily is one of the greatest dunker's. but I like J Rich. Yeah Vince was nice to. But J Rich Takes the cake.

Like damn. Look where my man head is at. Mind you he's 6'5 like damn. He has bounce!



But I can't take nothing away from M.J. this dunk was also crazy! The cock it back from the free throw line. That was stupid. But Jordan was never really a vertical leaper in my eyes and was more of a leaper kinda guy.



With the dunk contest now over. I'm really looking forward to tonight's All star game. it should be good. But with Kobe's finger hurt there is a chance he might not play. But if he does. The West will win! Yes you read it here first!

Kanye!

I didn't get a chance to see the actual grammys. But thanks to the world wide web. I got a chance to see Kanye's performance. If I had to sum it up in one word it would be POWERFUL! Simply powerful. I think I've falling in love with Kanye. He's slowly becoming one of my favorite rappers.

Being that my mom also has passed away. I began to get teary eyed during "Hey Mama". At the end of the song unlike the album version Kayne adds. " Last night I saw you in my dreams. Now I can't wait to go to sleep. This life is all a dream. So my real life starts when I go to sleep." That really touched me.
